2001 Dodge Stratus

Dodge Stratus is originally known for its good and affordable transportation. In 2001, its impression changed considerably with its improvement in refinement, styling, price and power, featuring the optional potent 200-hp V6 engine, new sheetmetal and side-curtain airbags for the Sedan. The 2L base engine generates 132-hp and is matched with manual transmission. Stratus ES is smooth and quiet with a 2.7L Magnum V6 engine, giving off 200 horsepower on regular gas.

The SXT delivers a quick and responsive drive with its 4 cylinder 2.4 L engine. Exterior and interior dimensions were altered a little with the larger Sedan heavier by 100 pounds. Safety parts are added to this year's model including airbags and antilock brakes. The curtain-type airbags available for the Sedan are placed above the side windows. They are designed to inflate during side collisions, thus, protect the upper body. Antilock brakes are optional on all Dodge Stratus models except for the SE Coupe. Also added are the emergency release inside the trunk and lower anchors for rear child seats standard on all Sedans. Stratus ES has a spacious interior, leather seats and trim, a well-placed, simulated woodgrain on the dashboard, white-faced gauges and good quality controls.

Both the ES and the R/T models come with eight-way power driver's seat. The R/T and SXT interiors differ from the ES with a plastic trim in place of the woodgrain. All stratus models offer abundant storage space with the pass holder at the center, a covered console unit, lighted center-stack bin, coin holder, cup holders, map pockets on the doors and glove compartment. The trunk also offers more space for baggage and rear seats can be folded down to give more space for larger items.
