2004 Dodge Stratus

Dodge gets a fresh new look with the restyled 2004 Sedan version. Stratus Coupe
was restyled in the previous year and was carried over in 2004 almost unchanged.
A slight improvement on the Coupe is its satin silver interior trim. The two versions
of Dodge Stratus are built on different platforms and are mounted with different engines but
each is available with the option of the powerful V6 engine.
The Sedan is sporty and fun to drive when equipped with the V6 engine but the
Coupe is sportier and is more refined especially when wheeled through tough roads.
In appearance, the two Stratus versions share similarities but the Coupe is built
from a different design and has its own sheet metal. Stratus Sedans (SE, SXT,
ES, and R/T) have more amiable interior than the Coupe. Updates in the 2004 Dodge
Stratus Sedan include monochromatic grille on the front for the sporty R/T (road/
track) trim level, audio controls on the steering wheel, optional electrochromatic
rearview mirror, new door trim panels, seat fabric, front-disc and rear-drum brakes,
four-wheel disc setup for models with ABS, traction control and BeltAlert system.

The Five-passenger seating includes two front buckets and 60/40-split, folding
three-place rear bench. Standard equipments like air conditioning, cruise control,
tilt steering column, power windows, locks and mirrors remain in for this year.
SE and SXT Sedans are equipped with 2.4 L four-cylinder 150-hp engine that is
matched with four-speed automatic transmission. ES and R/T sedans hold a 2.7 L
200-hp V6 engine with five-speed-manual gearbox. On the other hand, the base SE
and R/t trim levels of Stratus Coupe are powered by four-cylinder or V6 engine.
Five-speed manual transmission models are mounted with 147-hp 2.4 L 4 cylinder
engine while models with same engine but with four-speed automatic transmission,
generate 200-hp.
